Letters from Elizabeth Calverley to Daniel MacCarthy.

file

Extent: Part of:

66 items (c.12 letters and c.38 documents)

PR70/B

Scope and Content: Calverley [née Meade] appears to have been a distant relative of Daniel's, as she describes herself as his "kinswoman" and discusses their common ancestors. Most of the letters are undated and unsorted, so it is very difficult to link pages of related letters together. Calverley often discusses religion in her letters and quotes from the Bible. File includes a significant number of pedigrees, copies of documents, and research notes written by Calverley relating the Keppel, Meade and Sarsfield families among others. The addresses she writes her letters from include: 15 Southwell Gardens, South Kensington, SW [London, England], Crosthwaite Vicarage [Keswick, Cumberland, England], Eastwood House, Keighley [Bradford, West Yorkshire, England].
