Scope and Content: Daniel prefaces his transcript of O’Donovan’s letter with the following note: “Pedigree of the MacCarthys of Glennacroim (sent me by Doctor J. O’Donovan)”. In the letter, O’Donovan says that he has searched all of the manuscripts relating to Irish pedigrees in the British Museum and at Lambeth Palace, and finally found the pedigree of “MacCartie of Glanacrime”, the details of which he then describes.
