PR70 Scope and Content:
Daniel's manuscript volumes detail much of the historical research which informed his books 'The Life and Letters of Florence MacCarthy Reagh …' and 'A Historical Pedigree of the Sliochd Feidhlimidh, the MacCarthys of Gleannacroim'. They contain numerous transcripts of letters and historical sources found in archives and libraries in Ireland, Britain and France. The manuscript volumes also include many original and copy letters which are not included in the correspondence series [PR70/B]. The letters are glued into the volumes, and it is likely that some of the letters included in PR70/B were originally located in these volumes. Most of the extracts and letters are arranged together by topic or historical figure. The manuscript volumes also include a significant amount of material relating to Daniel's family and friends.
