Scope and Content: Wagner writes that he received Daniel's kind letter and enclosure for Dan MacCarthy [see Richard Wagner's letter to Daniel dated 16 January 1878]. He adds that Dan has the clothes Daniel also sent him "religiously preserved. Clean and well brushed." Wagner also mentions that Daniel sent "assistance" to "Ellenor" [Elleanor MacCarthy], and asks if Daniel has heard that Timothy MacCarthy Downing MP died recently.
