Scope and Content: One letter is dated 8 July 1879 while the other is undated; both letters discuss similar topics so are likely to be close in date to one another. Townshend thanks Daniel for sending his story 'The Memorial Window', and says she is staying with her uncle at Creg [Cregg Castle] at the moment. She notes that her grandmother often speaks of Daniel and intends to show his story to Jonas Alcock [Stawell], "who I daresay you know." She mentions in the letter dated 8 July that she has not yet received "the book which DF McCarthy [Denis Florence MacCarthy] so kindly sent me as it came to Courtmacsherry."
