[?Mary Ann] notes that her mother, [Ellen], is "holding on still laid up …" They also note that Father Roch e of Kinsale was another witness to the Duna pedigree.

Scope and Content: Mary Ann thanks Daniel for the £2 which she received from Mr Windele. She writes that her mother [Ellen McCarthy] died on 25 September in the eightieth year of her life. She hopes Daniel is in good health and sends her best wishes to Daniel's son Florence and his family. A note written by Daniel at the top of the first page of the letter reads: "Death of the widow of Charles [MacCarthy] an Duna".
