Descriptive list of the Daniel MacCarthy (Glas) Collection

asked genealogical questions. Angel said the names of her parents were John Hurley and Kate Crowley and that her paternal grandmother was named Angel MacCarthy. Angel then mentions that her father lived for some time in England where he was acquainted with Daniel's family. Eleanor says that a great grandmother of Daniel's was called Kate Crowley Baccagh and that she had no luck in finding the papers of Jerry An-Duna. She ends the letter saying that she is praying for Daniel and his family. The letter includes annotations by Daniel.

Scope and Content: Mary Ann and Ellen discuss their family tree, and [?Ellen] notes that her son Timothy has emigrated to America and she has not heard from him in two years, while her other son Jeremiah "is for the last 18 years an inmate of the lunatic asylum." A postscript, and an annotation written by Daniel, appear to suggest that a pedigree was originally enclosed with the letter.
