Scope and Content: MacDermot thanks Daniel for sending him his "last work" [most likely 'A Historical Pedigree of the Sliochd Feidhlimidh, the MacCarthys of Gleannacroim']. He asks if Daniel can send him a list of Irish language given names, such as those equivalent to Timothy, Terence and Thomas for example. He also appears to make reference to the botanist Anne Maria Barkly [née Pratt], and her husband, Sir Henry Barkly "Governor of Natal".

Scope and Content: [?MacDonald] thanks Daniel for 'The Life and Letters of Florence MacCarthy Reagh …' He notes that "when I am to see Lord Castlerosse [?Valentine Browne, 4th Earl of Kenmare] at [?Worthing], I could not help thinking that he was the possessor of the estates of many families who had been wronged out of them." He also mentions that "Mr [?Vanreeth] ... has sold Burton green [?Beulah Spa, Upper Norwood, London] to the nuns of Norwood [?Congregation of Our Lady of Fidelity]".
