Scope and Content: Justin encloses the addresses of all of the MacCarthys listed in the Liverpool directory [not included], and says he will endeavour to send the addresses of any MacCarthys he know who are not listed. He notes that there was a priest by the name of McCarthe in Crew [?Crewe, UK], but he has been removed to Bangor in Wales. He suggests that "Father McGrath" will know his address.

Scope and Content: Justin encloses numerous petitions with his letter [included]. The petitions are addressed to "Clan Carthy" regarding the revival of the "McCarthy Mor". Many of the papers are signed by individuals named MacCarthy in Liverpool and Ireland giving their support to the project [it is possible that not all of these petitions were sent by Justin, but were collected together by Daniel from various sources]. Justin notes in his letter that his wife has just given birth to a baby girl, Kate. He adds that he has two other children: Ellinor and Daniel.

Scope and Content: The writer of the letter thanks Daniel on behalf of herself and her husband for the copy of his book [likely 'The Life and Letters of Florence MacCarthy Reagh ...'], which "Mrs O'Donovan" forwarded onto them. She says they will seriously consider Daniel's proposal regarding the chieftainship of the sept, and hopes they will meet when he visits Ireland.
