Scope and Content: Eugene writes that Mr Collins could not go further in the pedigree then that of Felim, that Jerry na Doona was fourth cousin to Eugene's father, and that the Dyrragh's were absolutely sons to Felim. He calls the descendants of the Dyrragh's the most miserable and poorest of the MacCarthys.

Scope and Content: Eugene writes that he has an injured hand which has stopped him from writing sooner. He congratulates Daniel on the completion of his pedigree and calls it a lasting monument to the MacCarthy Glases. Eugene notes that Denis who signed several testimonials was a Balleigh MacCarthy, and that Daniel O'Leary lives at Shanlaragh. The letter ends with Eugene stating that he sent the ten shillings postal order from Daniel to "an aunt of Rochfort".
