Scope and Content: Eugene writes that he was unable to travel to Dunmanway to collect the book and keen as he was ill, and had hoped to see the MacCarthy monument in the Catholic Church. He hears that the monument is a fitting memorial to the MacCarthy Glas family. He notes that the few remaining MacCarthys are delighted with the monument.
