Descriptive list of the Daniel MacCarthy (Glas) Collection
Scope and Content: Eugene asks if Daniel can amend the document in his chosen style and that he, Eugene, will ensure to have all proper signatures attached to the document along with a paragraph mentioning Mrs Donaghue. He also discusses the revival of the MacCarthy Mor chieftainship, and appears to discuss an upcoming visit by Daniel to Ireland.

Scope and Content: Eugene is sorry that Daniel had an unpleasant passage [to Ireland]. He says that the new document sent by Daniel pleases him very much. He hopes to be in Cork Thursday where he hopes to meet Daniel. He notes that there are only five males of the MacCarthy line still living in Gleannacroim. Eugene tells Daniel that in Cork there is a great genealogist called Felix MacCarthy whom he will call upon.

Scope and Content: Eugene writes that he has received the enclosure for Mrs Shorten from Daniel whom he notes is a peevish and hard to please woman. He says that Jerry na Doona, Eugene's grandfather and Daniel's grandfather were all related in the fourth degree. The letter ends with Eugene promising to make any enquiries about Mr Collins on Daniel's behalf.
