Scope and Content: Eugene writes regarding the marriage of Daniel's grand aunt, the brothers Owen and Florence who had land in Moheny and Dunmanway before emigrating to America, and that he knows of a first cousin of his father Cornelius Cormac Glas who never left Ireland. Another cousin who lived to the age of 96 was able to recall Donogh Oge's life and his presence in the Meath Militia when they were quartered in Dunmanway.

Scope and Content: Eugene writes that it pains him to ask Daniel to prepare a second pedigree document and he again assures Daniel that he is certain Dermod and Denis of Dyrragh were the sons of Felim. Eugene then discusses the death of John Collins of Myross, the uncertainty surrounding the date of his death and that he has received several letters from the Dead Letters Office on behalf of Reverend J Murray, Parish Priest of Rosscarbery. Next, Eugene mentions a MacCarthy Glas leaving Tipperary to settle in France during the Penal Laws. He ends the letter saying he has no more spare paper to tell a tale about Donogh Oge.

Scope and Content: Eugene writes that he has received his letter along with the second document which does not offer the same substance as the former and that he unfortunately does not have the same memory as John Collins. He will have the second document signed and will make any improvements that Daniel wishes to it. In a postscript, Eugene states that John Collins and the Old Dean were different men.
