Descriptive list of the Daniel MacCarthy (Glas) Collection
Eugene writes that he has discovered the name of Felim MacCarthy's father and that he has visited Angel O'Donoghue, granddaughter of Angel Hurley, in order to discover her family history which he recounts in the letter. Next, he discusses Dermot of Dyrragh (whether he was the brother of Cormac Glas and Felim), how General Shuldham published a MacCarthy pedigree and that he will be visiting Mr Bennett of Bandon, another respectable genealogist.

Scope and Content: Eugene writes that he has made a mistake concerning Dermot and Denis of Dyrragh being brothers of Cormac and Felim Glas. He says he was distracted when writing his last letter as his nephew and niece called prior to emigrating to America. He writes that he was never aware of a connection with the Shuldhams who visited Dunmanway once a year. Eugene firmly believes that Denis was the brother of Cormac and Felim Glas and the father to the Mary MacCarthy who married Edmund Shuldham. He also promises to send Daniel a pedigree for Jerry na Duna in the future.
