Scope and Content: Eugene writes that he has been ill and not able to properly convey the genealogy of the MacCarthy (Glas) but that he promises to do so to the best of his ability wishing he had his own father to help him. He then goes into detail about various branches of the MacCarthys: An Duna, Cormac Glas and his brother, the marriage of Mary MacCarthy and Edmund Shuldham, Jeremiah MacCarthy, Cormac brother of Tadhg an Duna, Donogh Oge MacCarthy, priests in the MacCarthy family and the emigration of the Donagh Oge MacCarthy ["he was an outlaw"].
