File of general correspondence. Includes 29 November 1947 letter from Jack Walsh, County Mental Hospital, Lancaster requesting Fitzgerald to find out the addresses of his family. Moves on to discuss the works he had published while under consular detention in Argentina and states he was a serious competitor of Jack London's "for that combination of Literacy and 'Tramp de Luxe" honours commenting "He managed however, to preserve his legal status with sanity; Remarks ruefully he would like to send Fitzgerald a copy of his book "Nobody from Nowhere" printed in Buenos Aires but does not have a copy. 9 items iv 1950's File of General Correspondence. Includes 15 April 1951. Copy letter from Fitzgerald congratulating Sir Alexander Clutterbuch, British Ambassador to Ireland on his appointment as Permanent Under-Secretary of the State Commonwealth Relations Office. Includes 16 December, 1959, copy letter to Miss Ita O'Leary, New York keeping her up to date with events in Cork, especially the establishment by Denise Moriarty of the Ballet Company. Discussing the economy he remarks "we are not as thorough as other nationalities and it takes a foreign [ ] to get the best out of us". 29 items

1379a 4 February 1958 Letter to Fitzgerald from the Manager of the National Bank Limited reminding him he has gone over his overdraft limit of £4,000 by £213 suggesting the matter be seen to. 1p v 1960's 1380 5 August - 5 June 1969 File of general correspondence. Includes 6-26 January 1968 correspondence between Fitzgerald and William J. Fitzgerald, Newfoundland, Canada. William Describes in a jovial way his efforts to get a subscription to the Cork Weekly Examiner and gives a humorous account of a visit to Ireland by Hugh Garland, his brother Eddie, Chief Accountant of Hibernian Insurance to and Rick Corcoran, Chairman of the Board. 10 items
