Covering letter from G.A. Cuthbert, Manager Cork Dockyard Ltd., enclosing for Fitzgerald copies of two letter of interest from Mr. Ronald McCeon, Consulting Engineer (1) he requests his best wishes be passed on to Capt. Kolydos at 'the Adventurer' (2) he comments on the excellent reports he heard of the repair work done to the "Mountainside" declaring "it is only part of the normally efficient service synonymous with the name of Cork Dockyard'. 3 items

1149 3-4 April 1952

Copy letter from Fitzgerald to Superintendent Murphy, Cobh Garda Barracks enclosing an anonymous threatening letter he received. The typescript of the letter asserts it was not Fitzgerald who saved Rushbrooke yard but another about which the writer declares "I hear you have £1,000 a year out of it working on the poor fellow's brains" adding "There are five outsiders to every Cobh man, we got to walk around an witness this after one of our so called fathers of the Cobh U.D.C. gave away all the Key Gobs (sic) to Passage, Monkstown and Corkmen. I also, notice you did not forget your relatives". Letter from Superintendent Murphy states the matter will be looked into. 3 items

Newsclipping from the Cork Examiner 'An Expensive Industry' condemning the amount of government money poured into Cork Dockyards with a draft reply from Fitzgerald correcting inaccuracies.
