686 31 January 1948

Letter to Fitzgerald from Phil O'Neill (Republican Councillor C.U.D.C.) apologising for his behaviour on the night of Fitzgerald's public speech, but declaring he is still "indignant at the corrupt practices of local Fianna Fail adherents", who is asserts stock local firms with their own choice of employees as a result of which local firms are corrupt and inefficient. Rants especially about Englishmen being given highly paid jobs in Rushbrook and gives examples of incompetent work practices at the Steel Mills. Also note by Paddy Fitzgerald giving Seamus background information on O'Neill. 6pp
