B609/2/H/7 Analysis Book, Kiln-dried Barley Samples, 1963-88. Volume recording details of samples sent to AGS (noting variety, quantity, and date), and kiln-drying details for each variety, by quantity dried on each day. Raw moisture, kiln-dried moisture, and fuel used are all recorded and averages calculated. Tables noting quantities of screenings and so on occur at intervals. The volume also notes seed barley samples sent to the State Seed Testing Station, Dublin (e.g., 11 December 1963).

B609/2/H/8 New Plant Weekly Bin Temperatures, 1976-78. Not strictly drying.

B609/2/H/9 Moistures, Screenings, and Proteins Book, Harvests 1988, 1989. Though titled differently, this volume records similar information to weighbridge books. Additional headings are Nitrogen (‘as is’ and ‘dry’), Protein, and Triumph and Corniche (varieties of oats). Inside the front cover is a formula for calculating protein content.

B609/2/H/11 Moisture Content Readings, Supermatic versus Laboratory Oven, Harvests 1974 to 1977. This volume records weighbridge numbers and comparative readings for each of the ovens named only.

B609/2/H/12 Extract Tables. Undated. Book of tables recording specific gravity and extract details of lots of malting barley. Analytical, but clearly relating to crop management.

B609/2/H/13 Harvest Results, 1989. Analysis sheets, grouped for the season, recording moisture and protein content, sent from AGS to JHB following tests on samples. Varieties (Grit, Corniche, Blenheim) noted, as is source of sample (grower, agent). See also weighing and drying records at B609/2/F and G above.
