Items under ‘N’ include a letter to John H Bennett from ES Beaven, The Maltings, Warminster, in which he remarks ‘I am always saying that the best hope for a United Ireland which will be con amore within the Commonwealth depends very much on the prosperity of Guinness, which is the best truly Anglo-Irish institution and ought to be such an effective connecting link as to be a great factor in that direction’ (15 March 1934).
