John Roche leases to his brother Patrick Roche fz Morris a stone house in the city and a fourth part of all the lands and hereditamentes of Knockyrea & Bally Browning situated within the liberties of the Cittie of Corck which fourth parte contains by estimaccon twenty accres arable landes or theraboutes & lieth next the landes of Ballinloghe on the east & the lande called the Cabbin the west And also two gardens outside the south gate whereof one lieth above St. Augustine’s abbey (Red Abbey) and the other is beside the Holy Rood (St Mary Del Nard) churchyard … paying yearly to John Roche and his heirs and assigns the sum of 13s. 4d. sterling currant money of England by even proportions at Michaelmas & Easter. [Damaged & rather illegible] Concerns heir of James Sarsfield, deceased… For 40 poundes sterling good & lawful Currant money in England at the handes of Thomas Goold fz George … grant infeeffe & confirme vnto the said Thomas Goold his heires & assignes forever: All that the Meddowe or parcel of land commonly called by the name of Cloneybehy … containing 6 acres of English measure, be it more or less, situated … within the county of the Citie of Corck etc.
