The 'Gracie Blue' captured much attention in Irish newspapers in October and November 1947 after it sailed from Castletownbere, County Cork to Spain while being pursued by the Irish Naval Service ship LÉ Macha who had an arrest warrant for the captain, Mr Nicholson.
