The Flemings of Youghal were shipowners (see also Dei Gratia and Nellie Fleming ) and Slater’s Directory indicated Michael Fleming to be in the coal, timber and wine and spirits trades. Captain Thomas Donovan, who was listed from Cork in IMNCL, was from Courtmacsherry (see Dei Gratia ) and survived the sinking of Asiatic in 1853 when Captain Thomas Sutton (b.1797/98, Clonakilty) drowned. Fate of ship:

This ship departed from the Mumbles for Youghal, Co Cork, 29 October 1838. There was no further trace of her, she was presumed foundered with the loss of all hands (List of Shipwrecks - Wiki). Captain Charles John would have been the Captain C John in Lloyd’s. He was previously captain of E conomy 1834 – 5 and was the father of Captain William Charles John (b.1834, Cork). He provided two places of birth in archival record.
