This barque, which was registered in Shields for 1855 (Lloyd’s), was driven ashore at Ballycotton, Co Cork, 18 February 1855. She was re-floated in late April and towed to Cork for repairs (List of Shipwrecks - Wiki). This ship sailed on routes to India, West Indies and the Mediterranean. Captain George Braily who gave a Queenstown address on receipt of his Master Certificate at Cork in 1851, also captained the Scott schooner Blue Jacket in 1855 and the Yacht Urania in the 1860s. Captain Benjamin Eastaway was previously captain of Ballinacurra Lass , would settle into the Youghal maritime community and would become the owner and master of Pim’s Mary & Anne during the 1860s. Captain David Sullivan (Cert: 14618) sailed previously on Cork ships. He obtained his Master Certificate in 1856.
