Captain Henry Eastaway is documented by Slater’s Directory as the Youghal Harbour Master and Bailiff in 1881.

Captain James Bucknell Atkins was likely to be the Captain J Atkins in Lloyd’s. He earned his Master Certificate in 1851 at the Port of London. Captain William Veale served mostly on Cork based ships (see the Dungarvan built St Patrick for his earlier career). He claimed service on this vessel for only 1845 – 9. He would obtain his Master Certificate in January 1851 at which time he provided a Youghal residence.
