ANNE

Place and date built: Tonnage/ Vessel type:

Harleys Coaster

1854 – 5 David Manning b.1814 (London)

Fate of ship:

Lloyd’s stated that this vessel was lost in 1855. I suspect that fortuitously Captain David Manning survived, since a mariner of his description appears in an IMNCL record as Mate on the 636t Brian Boiroimha of Dublin in 1867, having previously served on a Cork vessel.

Additional information:

Coastal trade under Captain Manning.
