Seaman David Walsh, from the Aghada/Whitegate area, previously served on Abraham Sutton’s Victory in 1865 and Sarsfield in 1867. Seaman John McCarthy was pre viously on Abraham Sutton’s Egmont and George Sutton’s Nancy McSweeney . Apprentice Jeremiah Mahony had served on Alma in 1871 and apprentice John Field on Sutton & Donovan’s Minnie . Seaman Michael McDaniel would die in January 1881 as the Mate, along with Captain Patrick Collins b.1832 (Kinsale), on the White Eagle ; wrecked in violent storm at Penarth Roads .

Ownership passed from Patrick Gorman of Youghal to John McCarthy of Ring, Clonakilty in 1883 and then on to Richard Blackmore of Appledore Devon after 1885 and a port move to Bideford (CLIP). Traded with ports on the Blackwater in 1879 and early 1880s. IMNCL reports export of oats and grain and import of coal (mainly from Bristol Channel ports). Captain Peter Farrell is Master on Lloyd’s until 1874; IMNCL reports document his captaincy only until 1869. Quite common to find Lloyd’s Register slow in documenting change of masters. He would subsequently captain the Farrell brig Althea . Captain Michael Harris Sheehan would also be captain
