Additional information:

This ship was engaged in West Indies and Mediterranean trade. As she was based in the home port of London during the Napoleonic war 1803 –15, Lloyd’s indicated she carried ten guns in 1812 – 13. Captain T Hardy, in Lloyd’s, was probably another member of the Huguenot Cork Hardy ship-owning family and a brother of Simeon Hardy who died in 1834 (see Simeon Hardy ). Simeon had a son, Thomas Hardy, who was in the Cork Butter Trade, and that young Thomas Hardy was a Cork Harbour Commissioner 1837 – 8 and 1842 – 6. Captain George had his name spelled as Berkeley in Lloyd’s and would be Master of the Hardy brig, Simeon Hardy , 1837 – 40. Captain John Forsayeth would also captain Simeon Hardy in the 1840s. # UK Nat Arch BT120 BT112; Lloyd’s; MNL 1852; UK M&M
