The Deaves of Cork were timber and butter merchants. The owner of this Cork ship, Deaves, was related to the brothers Thomas and Reubin Deaves (see Apollo ). During the Irish Famine years, this ship was likely therefore to have been importing timber while exporting cargoes of produce and emigrants. Prendergast documented Tottenham transporting 183 passengers to Montreal/Quebec in 1846, 228 passengers to Quebec in 1847 and 101 passengers to Quebec in 1848.
