This ship engaged in New Brunswick and British North American trade in 1863. Richibucto is located west of northern Prince Edward Island in the Gulf of St Lawrence. Captain William Johns and Mate Denis Driscoll were documented on the Sutcliffe in the 1861 Newport, Wales Census. The Census indicated Denis Driscoll to be married at that time and documented his birth in Kinsale. Captain William Charles Johns documented a move as mate to the steam packet City of Cork 1862 – 8, prior to his captaincy of Pelican , Kestrel and other steam ships. Captain William Charles Johns had a son, Captain Charles Joseph Johns (b.1862, Cork), who served largely on overseas steamships and married Mary Reynolds, daughter of Captain Robert Francis Reynolds (b.1832, Passage West), on 14 May 1880 in Liverpool. Prior to 1857, Mate Michael Keane had sailed on several vessels out of Cork and obtained his Mate Certificate in 1850. He would next sail as Mate on the John Harley of Cork before obtaining his Master Certificate at the Port of London in 1862. Mate (future Captain) Denis Driscoll would later marry Anne Sutton, daughter of Captain Robert Sutton (b.1826/29, Kinsale), on 1 Apr 1880 at St Pat’s Cork and would be the captain of the steamship Varna in 1881. Recorded on board the 835t ship Varna of London at Penarth were Captain Denis Driscoll, Anne [Sutton] Driscoll as the Captain’s wife and Anne’s brother, Mate Nathaniel Sutton (b.1855, Cork), who had recently earned his Master Certificate (1881 Census, Wales). *IMNCL; Lloyd’s; UK M&M; Sutton Family History; 1861 Census (Wales).
