Wrecked 11 January 1891 (CLIP). Captain McDonnell stated that she arrived at Castletownsend 7 January 1891 and went ashore 11 January and became a total wreck (IMNCL report). Captain Thomas Meredith was master of the ship, Mar – May 1850. She was then registered in St John, New Brunswick and he was then likely to have sailed her to Cork. Captain Robert Sutton and Seaman (future Captain) Robert Sutton were cousins; the sons of Captains George Sutton (b.1804, Clonakilty) and William Sutton (b.1814, Clonakilty). Captain Florence McCarthy was an older brother of Callaghan McCarthy JP (Ballincoursy) and Captain Timothy McCarthy (b.1837, Clonakilty) and a cousin of Captain Florence McCarthy (b.1823, Ring, Clonakilty). Captain Robert Jeffers and Mate John Jeffers moved to another Sutton vessel, Egmon t, in 1868. Most of these sailors would have known each other well. Captain John Murphy died a ‘ natural death ’ at Newport on the fifteenth of August 1872 (IMNCL). Captain Andrew McDonnell survived the sinking of Countess of Durham of Youghal in 1878 and captained Nameless of Youghal 1878 – 83. He was also Master of Grand Master of Cork, wrecked while at anchor in Cork Harbour in 1890. His brief service on Sarsfield was documented in 1890 (IMNCL). Seamen (future Captains) Robert Francis Reynolds and Robert Sutton would end up living in Liverpool. Both families had marital links back in Cork.
