This ship traded transatlantic to New Brunswick, New York and the West Indies.
Captain Nicholas Reynolds, the older brother of apprentices Robert F Reynolds and Benjamin V Reynolds, married Catherine Sutton, daughter of Captain George Sutton (b.1804) at St Pats, Cork on 7 Jan 1849. He sailed on many Cork ships until settling as Master of the iron-hulled Margaret Sutton 1867 – 83. Mate (future Captain) John Shea moved to Sutton’s Garland in 1847 and he would be the Captain on George Sutton’s Ocean when he obtained his Master Certificate in 1850. He replaced that certificate in 1861 after its loss in the sinking of the Liffey of Cork.
