Additional information:

This ship traded with the West Indies in 1866.

Captain George Nathaniel was the third master mariner son of Captain Nathaniel Sutton (b.1794, Clonakilty) and IMNCL confirmed his identity by his certification number (Cert: 21288). Mate (future Captain) Garret/Gerald Walsh was the oldest mariner son of Captain Jeremiah Walsh (b.1815, Dungarvan) and was a grandson of Captain Nathaniel Sutton (b.1794, Clonakilty). Jeremiah Walsh was married to this Captain George Nathaniel Sutton’s oldest sister, Catherine (b.1822, Courtmacsherry). Mate (future Captain) William Dineen spent just one month as the Mate on Pride. Perhaps this was a brief relief run, since he was a mate on two other Abraham Sutton ships at that time, George Lawrence and Girl I Love . He would become the Master of Girl I Love in 1865 and eventually purchase her from Abraham Sutton c.1879. *IMNCL; CLIP; Lloyd’s; UK M&M; Sutton Family History.
