Apprentice: Fate of ship:

This ship caught fire whilst on a voyage from Cork to Glasgow. Beached at Kilkeel, Co Down and was severely damaged 11 May 1850 (List of Shipwrecks - Wiki). She was apparently salvaged since Michael Conway continued his service from 1847 until 1854. However, it is of interest that a schooner of the same name was reported driven ashore and wrecked near Bangor, Co Down, 21/22 March 1857. She was on a voyage from Troon, Ayrshire to Cork (List of Shipwrecks - Wiki). An active Courtmacsherry shipyard mid-nineteenth century. S eaman John Bease would later captain Abraham Sutton’s brigantine, Perilla , 1860 – 5 and earn his Master Certificate in 1865.
