Moved from Cork to South Shields in 1843.

Additional information:

This ship voyaged from Youghal to Quebec in 1830s and Africa and Jamaica later. Youghal remained a significant port in the nineteenth century (Appendix 6: Port of Youghal). Scarborough, famed in history and song for its Fair, has a Maritime Heritage Centre and a poorly known history of shipbuilding. This ship must have been well built and maintained, since she continued to ply the Atlantic into her 60s after moving from Cork to South Shields in 1843. Captain Thomas Edwards, who previously captained Simkin’s Recovery , continued to sail ships out of Youghal for many years. Seaman Edward McDaniels deserted at Quebec (noted previously as a popular spot to desert ship in those times). (Appendix 6: The Ports of Cork, Kinsale, Ballinacurra, Clonakilty and Courtmacsherry).
