Fate of ship:

This ship (Reg: 42313), presumed wrecked but detail limited. A voyage from Clonakilty to Barmouth, Wales terminated 4 April 1874 and all the crew were saved (IMNCL report). This ship traded between Cork, the Bristol Channel and many Irish south coast ports: Clonakilty, Youghal, Ballinacurra, Skibbereen, Kinsale, Caherciveen. Captain Timothy McCarthy was, I believe, a brother or cousin of Captain Florence McCarthy (b.1823, Ballincoursy) and was baptized 30 May 1837 in Clonakilty. They were related by marriage to the merchant mariner Murray family of Clonakilty and Timothy became a shipowner with purchase of the 127t Murray schooner Mary Anne .
