Fate of ship:

Wrecked at Queenstown in 1885: a Cork brig of 85t with a cargo of ballast. Leaving Cork for Newport she was stranded and wrecked in the harbour but probably salvaged. Captain Brown also stated in an IMNCL report, dated 12 February, that she had stranded in Cork Harbour 7 January 1885. This ship traded largely between Cork and Newport and shows quite variable reporting of ages and birth places. Captain Patrick Brown must have been a capable old seaman. He used only a mark for his name (not unique to this captain) and served on Orinoco into his 70s. *IMNCL; CLIP; UK M&M; www.irishwrecksonline.net
