Captain Timothy McNamarra, from a Crosshaven mariner family (see crew listing), captained several Cork coasting vessels prior to obtaining his Master Certificate in 1858. Apprentice (future Captain) John Ronayne, who commenced his apprenticeship on Nancy Brown and Nancy Dawson , would sail on many ships (some from Cork) and obtain his Master Certificate in 1861.
