This ship was held in high regard (O’Mahony). She disappeared from Llo yd’s list in 1851, however , she can be found on CLIP (Reg: 13034) and IMNCL through the 1880s with new owners. Hawkins also owned Orinoco . Captain Henry Brown was likely to have been the Captain H Brown in Lloyd’s and the younger of the two ship -building brothers of Passage West. Lloyd’s next listed him on another Brown ship, the George Lawrence , on which UK Nat Arch BT112 confirms his captaincy in 1835 and his birth in 1811 (close enough) in Passage (see George Lawrence). Captain Patrick Brown was documented to have sailed on Nancy Brown before assuming captaincy of the brigantine Orinoco 1863 – 84. IMNCL records also indicate other Browns from that locale (Aghada parish) to have sailed on Nancy Brown . Captains Charles McCarthy (b.1812 and 1809, Timoleague) were possibly both the same man and related to the Apprentice John McCarthy (Timoleague) who served at that same time. Captain Robert Twohig, whom I also found to have been captain of Isabella with his last ship being Sally on a document review at Kew (BT98), was probably a brother of Captain John Twohig (b.1804, Kinsale).
