Additional information:
Mark Leonard of Kinsale became the owner in 1865 and then Mrs. Emily Leonard c. 1870. They would have been related to the Captains, John Leonard (b.1815) and Patrick Leonard (b.1828) of Kinsale. Captain William Barry was likely to have been related to William Barry, the shipbuilder of Passage West, who died in 1832 on the occasion of the launching of one of his ships. The Browns purchased his Yard, which was adjacent to their Yard, in 1833 allowing expansion of the Brown Shipyard. Captain William Dempsey and Mate (future Captain) Daniel Dempsey were probably brothers and related to Captain Thade Donovan (b.1805, Kinsale), who was married to Julia Dempsey of Kinsale and often sailed with William Dempsey.
