odds with the brigantine Henry Paterson , there is no evidence of a Henry Peterson in either Lloyd’s Register or CLIP and thus the attribution is appropriate. ‘Richbt’ is Richibucto, New Brunswick. Not found on Lloyd’s during some of the earlier years.
Additional information:
Captain Michael Keohane found on Hy Patterson (Reg: 8378) in 1863 (abbreviation for the same ship).
Captain Thomas Driscoll (b.1826, Cork) rose up through the ranks on this ship. He had spent the first year of his apprenticeship 1839-40 under Captain Nathaniel Sutton b.1794 (Clonakilty) on the Robert Lawe . He later was a seaman under Captain Thomas Sutton (b.1897/98, Clonakilty) on Herbert 1842 – 4, prior to his AB Seaman post on this ship.
This ship is spelt Henry Paterson in IMNCL but Henry Paterson in Lloyds and CLIP. So the majority spelling has been used.
