Additional information:

Vague information on the origin of a ship was common with prize vessels.

The Mahonys were a Kinsale mariner family and were likely to have been related by marriage to the Donovans. Margaret Mahony and Andrew Donovan were the parents of Captain Thade/Timothy Donovan (b.1805, Kinsale). Captain J Leonard in Lloyd’s would have been a senior member of the Kinsale mariner and ship owning Leonard family of the nineteenth century and a father or uncle of apprentice (future Captain) John Leonard (see the Enterprize ).

Seaman (future Captain) John Dempsey was previously discussed on Hosford’s schooner Hannah .
