Fate of ship:

Unknown.

Additional information:

The Deaves were a Cork Quaker family, closely related to the Harveys, both professionally and through marriage (see Apollo ). Captain Benjamin Hughes was likely to be the same as the Captain B Hughes on this Deaves’ ship in Lloyd’s. He earlier captained the Harvey ship William Penn and was related to the mate (and future Captain) Josiah Hughes of Youghal (see William Penn ). Mate Josiah Hughes previously served for a year on Lord Sandon and he may well have also been the J Hughes who captained the Coates ’ ship Adelaide which sank in 1844 but this is speculation.
