Fate of ship:
‘The Kinsale schooner Forester was wrecked within the bar at Youghal 16 Mar 1844. She carried coal from Newport. The Youghal lifeboat was thrown ashore in an attempt to reach the stricken ship. The crew were all saved’ (Bourke). Further information indicates she was en route to Kinsale and was re- floated on 23 March 1844 (List of Shipwrecks - Wiki). Date overlaps here are noted; they were common in ‘coastal trade’, where , with two or three trips per month, the captaincy was easily rotated. Captain Andrew Copley was Lloyd’s Captain A. Copely. Apparent service overlap as he was also documented as captain of Friends of Liberty 1837 — 8.
