Scope and Content: The Eire society of Boston presents an evening of musical entertainment featuring: Arthur Fiedler and his world famous POPS orchestra playing an all star programme including some of Ireland's best loved music and an added attraction Rita Lynch, leading soprano of the Dublin Opera Company and Radio Eireann, in her Boston debut. The programme included works by Mendelssohn, Stanford, Wagner and Molloy including The Nine Penny Fidil arranged by Herbert Hughes. Fiedler (1894-1979) was an American conductor who led the Boston Pops Orchestra for fifty seasons. The Boston Pops Orchestra is the Boston Symphony orchestra without its principal players.
