Also includes the report of an arbitration case between two Trade Unions signifying the increasing recognition of the authority of the Dáil Éireann Courts. (Chief of Staff, Richard Mulcahy) reporting the seizure of arms from an enemy patrol on the Midleton-Twohill road by the 4th Battalion, Cork No.1 Brigade. 11 June 1920 1p 41 Copy letter from MacSwiney to A. de Staic (Austin Stack Substitute Minister for Home Affairs) concerning the administration of the courts in Mid Cork. Includes MacSwiney's support for the new Court of Appeal, his hope that Kenny (James D. Kenny, Barrister) will visit Cork and give a short lecture on legal procedures and his suggestion that Republican Certificates of Commission of the Peace will be issued to authorised members of the Courts. 12 June 1920 2pp 42 MS letter to MacSwiney from James D. Kenny, Solicitor, commenting on the new scheme to establish Parish and District courts.
