Thanks him for letter and shamrock. Refers to de Valera’s efforts in the US to garner support for the anti-treaty cause. The publicity he gave 'killed their campaign for collecting a big fund....and has also caused most of the members to quit in protest', those remaining are 'mostly the irresponsible ones'. Describes his efforts for the Pro-Treaty side. In Boston, the Clover Club endorsed the Free State. Welcomes the measures taken by Collins and Griffith. His letters and cables were published in various papers. Describes a severe economic depression in the US, and says he would not advise his cousins to go to America. Intends to visit Ireland if the Free State wins the election, possibly bringing his car. Encloses a set of newscuttings publishing his letters.
