'Sir J.W.R. is responsible for blocking payment of your salary...No one can be certain in these critical times that he will retain his liberty...it is the duty of everyone of us to see that justice shall be done'. He will speak very plainly at the next meeting but doubts if the committee will put up a decent fight. Fawsitt has stated a clear case against the department which could grant an extended leave of absence. 'We are at last feeling the effect of the atmosphere of 'independence which is abroad'. Refers to the importance of education. (2pp)
