Scope and Content: Thanks him for his letter of 19th Dec. He has been in touch with Sean O’Hegarty and his help has been of the greatest value. He has tried to contact everyone who was a member of the Volunteer committees in the pre 1916 period. As soon as Liam De Róiste’s further statements become available he will send copies.

Level: Item Extent: 1p & 12pp Part of: U271/N/2/A Scope and Content: He encloses the second and concluding statement by Liam de Róiste TC on the Cork Corps for the period up to Easter 1916. The TS. statement is 12pp with a few minor annotations. It starts 22 Nov 1914, refers to Terence MacSwiney becoming organiser for County Cork 20 Aug 1915, JL Fawsitt (Chairman of the Cork Executive) ordered out of Cork by the British 22 May 1915, various meetings and operations of the Volunteers, the activities of the National Volunteers, British Army recruitment, arrests of MacSwiney and Tom Kent.
