Street, Dublin to 'Dear Liam', Liam de Róiste, Cork Level: Item Extent: 1p Part of: U271/J/001 Scope and Content:

'No doubt you have observed that the three men who formed the Volunteers- Fawsitt [Diarmaid Fawsitt] you and I - have been ignored in the [opening of new] City Hall Ceremony'. Remembers the time, energy and money he spent in organising the Volunteers throughout the County, and the terrible sufferings and deprivations some went through. Realises the 'ingratitude of the people', and that 'the new city hall will be filled today by the renegades who battered us...while we who made men of them are forgotten. At best it is a pretty rotten world'.
